Holiday hours (or special hours) allow businesses to set specific operating times for holidays, special events, or irregular closures without altering their standard weekly schedule. When a major holiday approaches (like Christmas or Independence Day), Google often displays a warning on your Business Profile saying "Hours might differ" unless you have explicitly confirmed your hours for that specific date.
Why Update Hours during the Holidays?
Certainty: Replaces the orange "Hours might differ" warning with a reassuring green label that says "Hours confirmed by this business."
Experience: Prevents customers from traveling to your location when you are closed, or assuming you are closed when you are actually open.
Reputation: Reduces negative reviews and frustration caused by incorrect timing information on Google Maps.
