What is a Widget?

A "widget" is a small interactive element within a user interface, like on a website or mobile device, that displays specific information or provides a quick way to perform a particular function, allowing users to access key details at a glance without needing to open a full application; examples include weather updates, news headlines, calendars, or a search bar on a webpage. 

On Marqii, a widget is the interactive element that adds and updates hours and/or menus on your website. 

Widgets and Their Importance to Your Website

What can Widgets mean for you and your business? 

• Customers can view both your hours and menus directly on your website, without needing to access Google or other platforms.
   
• For menus, any updates made through Marqii are automatically synced and reflected on your website via the widget, ensuring your menus are always up to date. If you have a POS integration, updates made through the integration will also sync automatically. Please not that each widget can display up to a maximum of 10 menus.
   
• If you're updating business hours, you’ll need to update them first in Marqii. The widget will automatically reflect the changes on your website, as long as the specific hours are properly labeled in the code.
   
• Updates are simple to manage with Marqii. Whether it’s menus or hours, the widgets adjust accordingly, reflecting the most current information, if the code is labeled to include holiday hours.
   
• Simplicity at your fingertips, all that is needed is a line of code embedded to your website configuration that Marqii provides. 

Widget FAQs

1. How do I add a Widget to my website? 

• Let us know if you'd like to add an hours widget, menu widget, or both! We will provide you with a line of code to have embedded to your website. 
   

2. What if I don't know how to embed a line of code to my website? 

• We can embed it for you. Simply provide us with your login credentials for your site. You can either share your personal credentials or create a user for info@marqii.com.

3. What if I want my special/holiday menus separated from my standard menus?

• We can create a separate widget to embed your special/holiday menus, it will be a separate code that needs to be embedded on your website. 

4. What if I added a new menu, and I want to include it on my current widget?

• Please email support@marqii.com with the details, and we will be happy to add it to your widget. Please note each widget can display a maximum of 10 menus.

5. What if I want to remove a menu from the widget? 

• Please email support@marqii.com with the menu you would like to remove.

6. What type of hours will I be able to display on my website via the widget? 

• We can use any of the selections available on Marqii including, Happy Hour, Kitchen, Holiday, Brunch, Lunch, Dinner hours, and more. As long as the code is written and labeled to include those hour types.

7.  Will I be able to customize my hour and menu widgets? 

• Menus widgets can be customized to some extent, including color schemes, fonts, and alignment. Hours cannot be customized, but any and all hours available on the dashboard can be added to the widget, as long as the code is properly labeled. We are exploring additional options to make the widgets even more aligned with your brand's look and feel.
