How to Turn Off Google AI Assistant for Your Google Business Profile

Last updated: August 20, 2026

Google’s AI Assistant can automatically gather information about your business to help keep your Google Business Profile up to date. This may include contacting your business or using information it finds from other online sources.

While intended to be helpful, these automated updates can sometimes conflict with the business information you’re actively managing. To maintain greater control over your profile and ensure your business information stays consistent, we recommend turning off all Google AI Assistant settings.

1. Open Your Google Business Profile

  1. Sign in to the Google account that manages your Business Profile.

  2. Search Google for your business name to open your Business Profile management options.

  3. Click the three-dot menu (⋮).

  4. Select Business Profile settings.

2. Open Advanced Settings

Select Advanced settings from the Business Profile settings menu.

3. Turn Off All Three Settings

Locate the Automated calls and texts from Google section and turn OFF all three toggles:

  • Bookings and inquiries from customers

  • Keep your profile up to date

  • Post to your profile on your behalf

Important: Refresh and Confirm

After turning off all three settings, refresh the page and return to Advanced settings to confirm that all three toggles are still off.

In some cases, one or more settings may turn back on after the initial change. If this happens:

  1. Turn the setting off again.

  2. Refresh the page.

  3. Reopen Advanced settings and confirm all three toggles remain off.

  4. Repeat as needed until all three settings remain off after refreshing.

Once all three toggles remain off, you’re all set.
