Yelp Guidelines and General Practices

Yelp Reviews and Responses have their own set of guidelines:

Character limit of 5000 characters

If a response goes over the allowed limit that Yelp has set, you will see the following error message: "Replies cannot be greater than 5000 characters"

 

Emojis

Yelp does not allow emojis in reviews and responses.

 

Editing a Reply

Yelp does not currently allow business owners to edit reviews or responses.

Note: Only the customer can edit the customer review. Customers are granted 30 days from the initial review to add a new score and/or edit their response.

 

Deleting a Reply

Yelp does not currently allow business owners to delete reviews or responses.

 

Breaching Yelp's Terms of Service can potentially cause your response to be flagged and removed by Yelp. To avoid this, we recommend reading Yelp's Content Guidelines article to conduct safe practices while responding to reviews.
